LUNCHEON SPEAKER:
Anne Thomas, Author, “From Bullets to Blackboards,” and Associate with the Rise Institute and Southeast Asia Multi-Lingual Education Project and Indigenous Youth Development Programme (www.ntfpcambodia.org).

COACHING WORKSHOPS (90 minutes) WILL FEATURE:

Powerful Teaching and Learning into Practice
Alison Olzendam and Heather Knight Certified coaches and extraordinary leader trainers, will conduct a research-based workshop designed for teacher leaders, coaches, administrators, and professional learning communities.

State of the Art Instruction
Kathy Comfort and Jo Kain, Clover Park School District’s distinguished curriculum designers and coaches, will conduct training in implementing the Continuum of Teacher Development derived from research related to the National Board for Professional Teaching Standards, the Principles of Learning, and Washington State’s Professional Certification Standards.

Effective Facilitator Strategies and Practices
Anita Roth and Autumn Foster, Tacoma School District Literacy Facilitators, will provide training in a variety of skills and strategies to help teachers improve their instructional skills. One-on- one planning and reflective coaching conversations are a tool that can be used to move both veteran and beginning teachers into reflecting about instruction.

Leadership & Cognitive Coaching for Mentors
John Armenia and administrators from three school districts will conduct this workshop on preparing experienced teacher and administrator mentors for coaching roles with interns, and novice teachers and administrators.
